Costume design, costume making, prop design or prop making, to furnishings or a combination of these – I like to put my skills towards a challenge.

I work from a clients ideas or sketches, reviewing materials, finishes and various approaches to construction┬áto achieve a finished product that looks good, fulfills it’s purpose and fits a budget.

I have produced work for a variety of industries including advertising, fashion, theatre, dance, retail and comedy.

I work from my studio in South East London or I can come to you. Feel free to get in touch if you have a need or a problem in these areas that needs solving.

Here’s a brief synopsis of my experience…

I have always made things. I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Fashion Design from the University Brighton – it gave me a wide portfolio of opportunity to work with 3-D form, pattern cutting, set design and character.

During and after my degree I worked in London assisting conceptual fashion designers Boudicca, Anne-Sofie Back and Jens Laugesen. I honed pattern cutting and making skills, and the importance of attention to detail and quality of materials was impressed on me.

I realised how adaptable my making skills and ideas were when assisting the inspirationally innovative Bless in Paris, helping them produce various products including fashion accessories and furniture.

I have been making soft props and costumes for over 10 years. I have an expanding client base and I continue to work with regular clients, many from the beginning of my career. One of my first jobs was for Set Designer Andy Hillman whose designs for clients including Tim Walker, M.A.C and Comme Des Garcons, have pushed me to develop a wide knowledge of materials and techniques to facilitate the unruly needs of this exciting area.

I have proceeded to combine my prop and costume making skills to produce structural one off costumes, extending to use beyond the camera to performance for theatre and opera. Regular work with Costume Designer Stevie Stewart (BodyMap, Michael Clark Company, Rambert) has introduced me to methods, materials and considerations for these areas such as movement, strength and performers comfort.

I also design costumes for theatre, comedy & film.
